Overview

HIMOROGI ("this site") is a fully static website, and our own servers do not collect or store visitors' personal information. We do not provide account registration, login features, or contact forms.

However, to understand and improve overall site usage, we use Google Analytics 4, a third-party service. Analytics cookies are enabled only if a visitor selects "Accept" in the cookie-consent banner at the bottom of the screen. See "Analytics (Google Analytics 4)" and "External Data Transmission Disclosure" below for details.

Cookies & Local Storage

This site uses Google Analytics cookies only if the visitor selects "Accept" in the cookie-consent banner. If consent is not given, or if "Disable cookies" is selected, no analytics cookies are set (under Google Consent Mode v2, analytics and advertising storage are all set to "denied" by default).

Separately, the site uses browser local storage to save display preferences (such as dark mode) and your cookie-consent choice. Information stored in local storage is not sent to our server.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), provided by Google LLC, to aggregate page-view activity and help improve our content. The data collected is intended to understand overall site trends, not to identify individual visitors.

By default, Google Consent Mode v2 sets all analytics and advertising storage to "denied." Analytics cookies are enabled only when a visitor selects "Accept" in the cookie-consent banner; selecting "Disable cookies" keeps the denied state.

Regardless of the consent choice, when gtag.js loads and measurement requests are sent to Google's servers on page view, connection information such as IP address and User-Agent is transmitted to Google (in the denied state, only cookieless aggregation is performed). To revisit your choice, use the "Cookie Settings" control in the footer at the bottom of any page to reopen the consent banner and choose again at any time (clearing the local-storage key himorogi-analytics-consent also resets it). External Data Transmission Disclosure

In accordance with Japan's Telecommunications Business Act (Article 27-12), the following information about data transmitted from your device to third-party services when viewing this site is disclosed below.

Cloudflare, Inc.

Used for hosting (Cloudflare Pages), CDN delivery, DNS resolution, and DDoS protection.

  • Data transmitted: IP address, HTTP request headers (User-Agent, Accept-Language, Referer, etc.), requested URL
  • Purpose: Content delivery, security protection, performance optimization

Google LLC (Google Analytics 4)

Used to aggregate overall site-usage statistics. gtag.js is loaded from googletagmanager.com, and measurement data is sent to google-analytics.com domains.

  • Data transmitted: IP address, User-Agent, viewed page URL, referrer, environment information (screen, language, etc.), and (only with consent) analytics cookie identifiers
  • Purpose: Aggregation and analysis of overall site usage (not intended to identify individual visitors). Denied by default under Consent Mode v2; cookie-based measurement occurs only with consent.

CARTO (CartoDB Inc.)

Used for delivering map tiles on the Shrine Map page.

  • Purpose: Map tile image delivery

Web Fonts (Self-Hosted)

The web fonts used on this site (Noto Serif JP, Noto Sans JP) are self-hosted within this domain. The site does not access external font services such as Google Fonts for font rendering.

  • Data transmitted: None
  • Purpose: Font rendering (delivered same-origin via Cloudflare)
  • External recipient: None

Amazon Associates Program

HIMOROGI participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Some book references include affiliate links to Amazon.co.jp. When you click such a link, you are taken to Amazon.co.jp, where your access data, cookies, and purchase information may be handled according to Amazon's own policies. HIMOROGI does not control how information is collected or used on Amazon.co.jp.

Simply viewing this site does not transmit any information to Amazon.co.jp. Aside from the referral revenue generated by qualifying purchases through these links and the consent-based Google Analytics 4 measurement described under "Analytics (Google Analytics 4)" above, HIMOROGI does not track reader behaviour.
